About Harvard University

In 1867, the Harvard School of Dental Medicine was established which is also the first university-based dental school in the world. It is the smallest school at Harvard University in terms of population. Nevertheless, the Harvard School of Dental Medicine remains as a world-renowned school of learning.

Next to be established was the Harvard Divinity School in 1816. This school offers education and practice in religion and ministry. Since Harvard was first established, the university was already able to provide education and training for those belonging to the Congregationalist and Unitarian clergy. The Harvard Divinity School was established without any official affiliation with any church.

Only a year after, the Harvard Law School was established. It is also the oldest operating law school in the country. It is ranked second in the country’s top law schools. Harvard Law School has produced notable graduates such as Rutherford Hayes and Barack Obama.

Come the 20th century, Harvard University managed to establish five other schools of learning, namely the Harvard Business School (1908), the Graduate School of Design (1914), the Graduate School of Education (1920), Harvard School of Public Health (1922), and the Harvard Kennedy School (1936).
